Dr.Blumberg grew up in San Antonio, Texas . After completing undergraduate degrees in Psychology(BA) and Zoology(BS) at the University, he received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston . He then returned to San Antonio to complete an internship and residency in General Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio . Following this, he returned to Austin in 1992 to begin his practice.
After 11 years with a large, multi-specialty group, he joined North Austin Pediatrics, P.A. while working part-time as the Medical Director of the Children's Hospital of Austin . He has since returned to the full time practice of primary care Pediatrics. Hi practice is limited to infants, children, and adolescents, with a special interest in Nephrology(diseases of the kidneys).
In the past, Dr.Blumberg has served as Chief of Pediatrics at both Seton Northwest Hospital and St.David's Hospital. He provides volunteer call coverage for the Peoples' Community Clinic.
Dr. Blumberg is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Travis County Medical Society.
Dr.Blumberg is married and has three children.
