Dr. Ellis moved from Tampa, Florida in February of 1997 with her husband who is a Chemical Engineer.   She did her undergraduate training at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with Honors. She went on to complete her Medical School in 1988, and Pediatric residency training in 1991 at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa.  Prior to private practice, Dr. Ellis was Assistant Professor in General Pediatrics at the University of South Florida for two years, and a General Pediatrician at a Migrant and Community Health Center near Tampa for four years.

Dr. Ellis was born in New York City; she lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil from the age of one to fourteen, where her father was an Industrial Consultant and her mother an artist (She painted our mural!). Her father is from Texas and lives in San Antonio, and her mom was from New York City.

Dr. Ellis is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

She has two sons, Kenny and Michael. 

She is active in the pediatric community and is the President of the Pediatric Alliance of Central Texas.
