Rebekah Sperling was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Hewitt, Texas with her family when she was twelve. She attended the University of Dallas where she received her Bachelors of Art degree in Biology in 2000. During her junior summer, Dr. Sperling explored Costa Rica while she studied Spanish. After graduation, Dr. Sperling attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During her fourth year of medical school, Dr. Sperling took six weeks to go on a medical mission in Uganda. She worked with the pygmies, near the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, educating and treating her patients for malnutrition, tropical diseases and H.I.V. The African continent still holds a special place in her heart.

After completion of medical school in 2004, Dr. Sperling moved to Providence, Rhode Island to complete her pediatric residency at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, an affiliate of Brown University. She is happy to return to Texas to begin her career in pediatrics.

Dr. Sperling is married to her husband, Chris, and they have two Golden Retrievers, Jordan and Izzy. They are all excited to be back in Texas close to family and friends.
